Women in Water Sanitation and Climate Change
About Us
Promoting wash (water, sanitation and hygiene) in educational setting and the communities of Ghana.

WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) is a critical area that addresses various social problems globally, including in Ghana. In the context of Ghana, some of the key WASH social problems include inadequate access to clean water, poor sanitation facilities, and insufficient hygiene practices. There is the need for creating healthier learning environments by improving water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools and communities of Ghana.

POOR SANITATION FACILITIES

The project seeks to firstly ensure equitable and sustainable access to safe and clean drinking water for selected schools in the rural and urban communities of Ghana who lack reliable access to clean water sources.

INADEQUATE ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER

Secondly, the project will improve sanitation infrastructure and promote proper waste management to reduce open defecation and related health risks in communities with inadequate sanitation facilities, schools and healthcare facilities.

INSUFFICIENT HYGIENE PRACTICES

There is the need to promote and educate communities about proper hygiene practices to prevent waterborne diseases and improve overall health.
